We say every year is the best year ever. But, this year really was the best trot yet! More people, more canned food, more costumes, more prizes and more fun than ever before! Plus, we crushed our previous fundraising efforts this year with over $5,700 raised!
And as great as this effort was, don't forget that you can give to those in need 365 days a year. Also, if anyone has any photos they want to share or ideas on how we can do this better, please reach out to me at any time. Hope to see you next year!

Give to the Shelter for the Homeless
The Shelter for the Homeless houses up to 100 people. They also serve hot meals nightly. Four years ago, we began raising canned and cash donations for the Shelter for the Homeless in Stamford, CT. Since that time we have given over $12,000 in donations, not to mention several bags of canned food. Below is a link where you can give with other runners from the Trot. Our organization is an official not-for-profit with the sole purpose of supporting the Shelter for the Homeless in Stamford, CT. As always, we will have a representative on hand from the shelter to answer any questions. If you feel more comfortable giving privately, please go here.

Let's Take a Look at the Videotape!
The 11th Annual Shippan Turkey Trot was such a blast! Don't believe me?? Watch the video and see for yourself!
But, hang on! The Tenth Annual Shippan Turkey Trot wasn't too bad either!
Truthfully, they've all been great. Unfortunately, we only started filming a couple years ago.

Shippan Turkey Trot: A Look Back
Founding TurkeysFounding Turkeys: Year 12
Legend has it these two moved to the neighborhood two weeks before the Year 12 Trot. And allegedly the Pac-Man costume is made from their moving boxes.
The epitome of giving your all for a costume. Dedication hurts so good.
I could tell you how fun the Trot is, or I could show you this picture of a bulldog dressed as a bumblebee and save us both some time.
We're a little bit cheeky.
Year 5: The Year We Decided to Start Taking Pictures
Year 9: Bus rolls out the t.p.
Year 10: "Do you ever have a burning sensation, Mr. President?"
Year 9: Fierce competitors race towards the finish line
Year 10: "Can you untag me in that picture?" - Thom@s B@rone
Year 9: Champion's Heat
Year 8: Lifetime Fan
Year 8: Spirit Award (pictured)
Year 9: Katie Hynes cleaning up on the prizes, and cleaning teeth with her very own Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen toothpaste.
Year 9: The smell of greatness... and possibly dog crap.
Year 8: "It's just right down the street, eh? And I won't look like an idiot for wearing this? Ok, let's do it."
Year 8: Perfectly normal.
Though 'erratic at best' from a historical accuracy perspective, (you're telling me Abe Lincoln wasn't on the Mayflower?!) Jeff's Year 7 get-up ushered in a new era of Turkey Trot costuming.
Year 5: aka The Year of Underwear Over the Shorts
Year 6: The Year It Rained
Year 7: aka The 4th Year of the Mustache
Year 8: The Year of Short Shorts and No Sisters
Year 10: Real or fake?
